YORK, PA — Yesterday was the first day of Spring — and it hasn’t stopped snowing since. By the time it ends, it’s forecast that over a foot of white stuff will have fallen. Talk about a curve ball — I just planted seeds for my garden. I won’t be planting them for at least another week, thanks to the snow.
Snow is a great reminder to slow down. Not just for driving safety, but in all of life. This much snow also acts as a great sound deadener — reminding me to talk less and listen more.
I tend to talk a lot, and God is teaching me to listen much, much more. I find that the more I keep my mouth shut, the more I learn. The more I learn, the more productive I am for everyone. I’m not use to anybody if all I do is talk.
And now it’s time for me to close the laptop, layer up, and go play with my sons in the snow. Before I know it, summer will be here — and I’ll never have this chance, courtesy of an interruption, again. Carpe diem!
